Vail Public Art Walking Tours Resume for Winter
Building on the popularity of last summer’s free public art walking tours, the Town of Vail’s Art in Public Places (AIPP) is offering a winter version that will give attendees an insider’s look into some of Vail’s local art galleries. The tours will be offered through a partnership with nine Vail galleries and will take place once per month through the end of the ski season.
AIPP Coordinator and tour leader Leslie Fordham says the first winter tour will begin at 4 p.m. Feb. 16 at the 10th Mountain Division Memorial near the Covered Bridge. The tour will include information on public art pieces followed by a visit to the Cogswell Gallery, DeMott Gallery and Gore Creek Gallery. “We’ll tour different galleries each month to keep it fresh,” said Fordham. “Each tour will finish at One Willow Bridge Road for drinks and a discussion.”
The free tours will continue on March 15 and April 12 and last approximately one and a half hours. For more information, contact Fordham at 376-1863.
